The Plugstreet 14-18 Experience interpretation centre, a modern venue in an exceptional setting!
The interactive interpretation centre focuses on the lives of soldiers and the civilian population. Its semi-subterranean construction is reminiscent of the catacombs that are now inaccessible. A glass pyramid marks the entrance. Visitors can enjoy a range of high-tech displays.
In partnership with the Australian government, three themes linked to the presence of Australian soldiers in Ploegsteert and Warneton are also explored: the Battle of Messines, the catacombs and the winter of 1917-1918.
