A cinema screening at La Vénerie

The Watermael-Boitsfort Cultural Centre and Centre for Expression and Creativity (CEC)

La Vénerie offers a wide range of participatory and cultural projects: a programme of films, performing arts, creative workshops and exhibitions.

Its committed work seeks to encourage sharing, the desire to learn and the participation of citizens and community players in working towards a more sustainable and equitable world.

Based at the Espace Delvaux (place Keym) and the Écuries (place Wiener), La Vénerie also explores other public spaces to enhance local cultural heritage and build with everyone.

To represent the full diversity of the ^7th art, the Cultural Centre is organising a number of cinema events:

• Every Wednesday at 7pm during the season, the Cinés Apéros are an opportunity to (re)discover the best arthouse films of the past year in their original version with French and Dutch subtitles. A drink is offered to the public after the screening, an opportunity to discuss the film that has just been seen.
• One Saturday a month and/or during the school holidays, the Cinés Familles invite children and parents on an adventure through a selection of films for young audiences.
• One Wednesday a month, the Cinés Débats screen films (mostly documentaries) on topical issues, followed by discussions with the film crews and experts on the subjects covered.
• Les Mardis de l’art (Art Tuesdays ) presents video portraits of artists every first Tuesday of the month at lunchtime, in collaboration with the Centre du Film sur l’Art.
• La Toile Filante is a series of lectures given by Olivier Lecomte looking back at the history of cinema and examining its many trends and personalities (Romy Schneider, the Coen brothers, dystopias in cinema, Billy Wilder and many others).
